Building Bitville’s In-House Games Movement
One Portfolio. One Team. One Shared Objective.
1. The opportunity
Our in-house games compete for attention alongside the large volume of third-party content we distribute. Good games are only part of the equation. We also need to keep improving what we create, spot new opportunities, understand what clients want, and actively move every game through development and into the market. A coordinated approach would give our in-house games the attention, direction and commercial focus they deserve.
2. My ambition
When I became Head of Innovation in March 2025, my understanding was that I would work with Andrew and the team to build and drive our in-house games portfolio. I would now like to take an active role in directing the whole portfolio. Whether an idea comes from Andrew, from me or from anyone else in the team, every game should benefit from a coordinated approach to refinement, market relevance, development and commercialisation.
3. Four areas I would contribute to
- A. Portfolio direction & market intelligence: Track new games, mechanics and features from providers worldwide, identify gaps and opportunities in our portfolio, run market-research surveys with my large group of active online players to test our concepts, prototypes and finished games, and bring recommendations to Andrew for review.
- B. Creative development & product enhancement: Originate new concepts and prototypes, help review and refine game concepts, and support brainstorming and direction when required. Help review games in development, including QA of the user journey and visual optimisation. The aim is not to dictate, but to help every game reach its full potential.
- C. Coordinating the games pipeline: Keep a clear view of where every game stands, flag delays and gaps, agree priorities and next steps, and follow up so actions progress. This is an ongoing responsibility, not a once-off review.
- D. Commercialisation & client insight: Help open doors for our games through my long-standing client and platform/aggregator relationships. Support the sales and account management teams with a focused distribution plan, tracking every target client from first pitch through to delivery and feedback, and bring client feedback into product discussions.
4. One team
Good ideas can come from anywhere, and a game’s success matters more than who first proposed it. I want to be both a contributor and a facilitator. I’ll bring ideas forward, encourage others to do the same, and connect product, development, design and commercial so we work as one team.
5. What I bring
- Around 30 years in sales, much of it in the betting industry
- Client relationships: established, trusted relationships with decision-makers across our client base, built through driving sales in our industry with Teamtalk, Sportradar and Bitville
- Product experience: at Teamtalk I co-originated content products and took them from concept to delivery. My time at Teamtalk, Sportradar and Bitville has given me extensive industry insight and a strong sense of how to build credibility and trust with partners
- Leadership: I have managed sales teams and run my own company
- Collaboration: I have led and worked within teams of very different people and skills, from technicians and telemarketers to developers and project managers
- Player test panel: a large group of active online betting game players, ready to test our concepts, prototypes and finished games and give real feedback through market-research surveys
- Player perspective: a genuine, lifelong interest in sport, racing, slots and crash games
- Creative drive: I enjoy turning ideas into products and refining them until they’re ready to succeed
- Values: ethical and honest, a natural problem solver and lateral thinker, with dogged determination and a never-say-die attitude. I always roll up my sleeves to fix what needs fixing, and I see things through to completion
- Client care: genuine empathy and goodwill towards all our clients, with warm, personal customer care always at my core
- Commercial instinct: strong negotiating and closing skills, a sharp eye for opportunities, and a constant drive to upskill, evolve and learn
I care deeply about Bitville and its success, and I want to be an integral part of building its future.
6. A practical, progressive path
- Phase 1: Andrew retains strategic control and decision-making. I coordinate agreed activities and bring ideas, market insight and client feedback forward.
- Phase 2: As I demonstrate results, I take on more of the day-to-day leadership of the games movement.
- Phase 3: I take ownership of driving the portfolio forward, with Andrew keeping strategic oversight and more time for the wider business.
Each step would be guided by results and agreed milestones.
7. What Bitville gains
Bringing this together would give us:
- A strong, continually evolving portfolio
- Clear visibility of the development and commercial pipeline
- Regular client feedback informing product decisions
- Consistent, highly focused follow-through, driving client adoption of our games
- Strong collaboration across departments, making the most of our many brilliant team members and the different strengths they bring
8. The next step
If you see me as a valuable addition to Bitville’s management team in this capacity, these are the tools I would need to deliver at that level:
- Inclusion in the regular in-house games planning, review and pipeline meetings
- A regular review and feedback slot for every game being created, wherever it sits in development
- A shared view of where every game sits in the pipeline
- A clear introduction of this role to the team, so colleagues understand my remit and can make time for my requests and contributions
- A monthly update from me covering portfolio progress, client feedback, global market trends, and the commercial pipeline: which clients have seen our games and who we plan to pitch them to next. I will also arrange a review of how the role is developing at the end of the first quarter.
If you don’t see me in this role yet, I would value understanding what you would need to see from me to get there. Equally, I would appreciate an honest view if you see my role developing in a different direction.
I am driven to collaborate, to contribute as part of a team, and to keep growing my responsibility within Bitville. I’m ready for this next challenge and would welcome the opportunity to show what I can contribute.
